The first illustrated German translation of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn was published in 1898 under the title Abenteuer und Fahrten des Huckleberry Finn (literally, Adventures and Journeys of Huckleberry Finn). It contains 51 black-and-white illustrations by Hans Schrödter, showing characters, landscapes, and other scenes from the novel.
