TEXT BEBIE Some of Bebié's illustrations depict scenes that were not part of the original ''Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.'' Such images are tagged as "-inv" for "invented." In most cases, it was clear which chapters were altered or expanded with the invented scenes. The "invented" illustrations were numbered accordingly. Only in one case was it not possible to match the scene "The King's Secret Mission" with a chapter from the original text. It was therefore cataloged as "Chapter 000". | |||
